This will cause the tank to fill up at a slower rate without any decrease in the flushing pressure. Actually, the explanation is quite simple. You see, the water pressure in the shower drops because water in the cold water supply is being partially redirected to the toilet since they’re both tied into the same supply line. That causes only the cold water supply to falter which further means that, for a few brief but excruciating moments, your shower can become extremely hot.
